You know what is really funny? Cunningham got to power because the first politician he ran against was in trouble for sexual harassment (he was a democrat) and the second was involved with a banking scandal (you guessed it a democrat) so it is how a lot of leadership is. If we don't want more of this type of stuff it is time to stop being so polarized and throw out the bad apples. Hilary Clinton and white water or other questionable people should not be considered. I don't like McCain but I at least believe he is honest.





What someone doesn't like they fact that I used facts in my answer? The truth only hurts those who are too stubborn to listen too it or too dumb to use it.Is this the way Republican leadership works? Is this just the start w/more to come?

if i were to pick the worse of the 2 evils... id hafta say congress is MUCH further in the depths of hel* at this point, because their, unfortunately.. and embarrassingly, success at bribing votes by voters by suggesting and passing unrealistic bills will affect the lives of hundreds of millions of American citizens in the future.. when we are recovering body parts from NYC and attempting to treat radioactively-infected people..

Yeah, just like leading Democrat from Philadelphia Vince Fumo was just federally indicted for having state workers do renovations on his 33 room house on state time. But his defense lawyer says they did it for free out of love for the guy!
About the same way Democratic leadership works, except Republicans get busted and do jail time.. So when is Ole' Harry Reid gonna do time for kicking in $10,000 to a pension fund controlled by a longtime friend of his (a ';lubricants distributor.';) in exchange for control over 160 acres in Northern Arizona. The land was worth over 10 times that amount. So what did Harry Reid do to repay his friend? He introduced legislation 6 months later that would benefit his friend's industry.. So what we have here is a pay-to-play scenario whereby Senator Reid stands to pocket $50K to $290K and the lubricant dealer gets legislation assisting their business. Reid has been complicit in other shady land deals in the Southwest including one in which he quietly had land transferred to private hands from the government.


So Harry is selling Legislation , not only is he not being indicted, the media is not saying a word.. Can we say media bias!!!!!

No, dear, this is the way politics works. Don't be depressed that this happens. Be happy that they're being caught. Corruption is part of human nature and is definetely not confined to one party or another. In fact, both parties are pretty much owned by business interests in one way or another, most of it legal, unfortunately (see: earmarking, lobbyists, etc...).





Granted, I believe that the present administration has more faults than most....
This is the way some top Republicans operate and there is more to come. Bush and his daddy were involved in crimes and Enron scam. Cheney is cashing in on the war even though he lies about it and says he doesn't. There are some Democrats who take bribes too but the Republicans are way worse on this.
