NETGEAR Wireless internet.. works on this but not laptop..?
My wireless internet is working on this computer (main) but not on my laptop.. I tried to connect to ';Katie'; (me) and it says diagnose problem or connect to different network. Hey, ok we have to check a couple of things. First we need to know if you were able to connect before this happened. Also we need to know if you unplugged anything recently from your router to your modem.
First lets check that all the light on the router are on and working the way they worked before. Second we need to find out how many lights you have on your modem, the modem is the little device that your internet provider provide for you. This might be connected to your phone line or cable.
If you didn't unplugg anything from any of those boxes, then the problem might be with the configuration of the router. To check this we have to access the modem's page and then check the settings, there we need to find what the user id and password are fore the internet connection. This user id and password was given to you by your internet provider, this can be an e-mail address... After this we can check other things. Perhaps you have free warranty work where you can take it back to your store and one of the tech/nerds can show you. I have Verizon as my network provider and they helped me get my laptop connected when I had problems, it's free!

But I have worked Christmas and New Year before, I worked one Christmas morning and was up at 6am opening stuff from Santa (yes I still get presents from Santa! Even though I'm 21) and came home from work at 3pm and opened the rest! I didn't mind it, it's New year I hated working, I love Christmas but think it's tradition that us Scots LOVE the new year celebrations lol

I spent $72.00 on Proactiv last Thursday night and I washed my face Thursday night, Friday morning %26amp; night and Saturday night and Sunday night too. i had pretty bad acne and i had tried everything... creams, face washes, pills, birth control... one day 6 months ago i just got fed up and decided to order some proactiv. i had heard some success stories from people i knew, plus those infomercials on tv really hook you. it has been the best thing i have done for my skin.
i find that a combination of proactiv and zapzyt (benzoyl peroxide cream 10%) works best for me. the proactiv took forever to start working (2 months). it didn't clear everything. so i added in using the zapzyt after the toner and before the lotion, and my skin has improved SO much. i still get pimples every now and then, but not nearly as much or as severe as i used to. i actually don't really mind the pimples i do get now, realizing that they are nothing compared to what i had.
looking back at pictures from 6 months ago, i can't believe how bad my skin was and how much it has improved! proactiv works the best for me. even though it's so expensive, i don't mind the price, because it's the only thing that HELPS. it won't work for everyone, and you may find that your skin gets worse before it gets better, but it's definitely worth a shot.
PROACTIV is totally worth it (from my experience.)

Also, make sure that you are using the ';Repairing Lotion.'; A lot of people think that moisturizer is too oily, but when you deprive your skin of it, your break outs can get worse. Keep using it and you WILL see results! Also, make sure you're not popping pimples or blackheads...this will make your acne worse!

The first thing I would recommend is making a Chinese friend. There is nothing better than getting a little help from a local. I would recommend trying to find a college student if at all possible. This is mainly because their English tends to be the best and they usually are more open to meeting new people and eager to help.
My second recommendation is to stay away from small shops and restaurants. The smaller businesses tend to sell based on a bargaining system. If you can't speak fluent Chinese, or don't have a Chinese friend, you pretty much don't stand a chance in negotiating a good price. Stick to larger restaurants and department stores that have set prices. This way you'll never get charged anymore than anyone else.
The third recommendation I have is that if you plan on staying in China for awhile, that you try and learn the language. Once you learn Chinese you can start to understand how they think. This is priceless. I don't know how many times I got special treatment just for saying a few kind words in their native language. They view it as a huge sign of respect.

Talk to your Chinese co-workers after work and see how they view things, try to understand their thinkings and share with them what you think it is better to do things together with (be patient, ask yourself - why you want to be in this country and stay longer? - if you want to stay longer and be happier - then - you have to find the ways to make things work! - this is the attitude that you should have when you are working in China!).
Check every detail and go through with your Chinese sub-ordinates to make sure things are alright and show them how you deal with things ';properly';.
Mutual respect is mostly needed when you work with people from different cutures.

- find a local person who can give you general hints and tips about the area - they may be a better connection to the whole area than anyone else
Remember this phrase ';Chinese logic verses Western logic'; when things like last minute schedule changes, apartment maintenance issues (amazing how they can turn changing a fuse into a months long ordeal requiring the assistance of five different people to fix it), shopping, and such come up. What makes sense to us for some reason doesn't always get through to them.
Try to learn patience, but also find an outlet for your gripes. Meeting with other foreigners on a regular basis for a b#tch fest can be quite cathartic. We have a regular weekly gathering for this in my city. Technically it's not for this purpose, but we always ending up talking about the things that make us crazy while living here.
Look at each day as an adventure. Crossing the street in my city is like playing ';Frogger.'; So far I've ';won'; everytime, although I have had taxis run over the very front of my shoes twice, but no damage done.
Remember that Chinese people talk around things. They don't like to flat-out say ';no.'; This might be part of their perceived trickiness, but they don't like to make foreigners unhappy so they take forever to get to saying something is not possible.

Don't be surprised at being the F.O.D. (Foreigner On Display). It's common for your school/company to show you off as a foreigner working for them. Look at it like it's an acting job. Be polite, smile when called upon, and get out as soon as time permits. Have someone call you at a certain time if you think the event will drag on so you can say your friend is waiting for you and you have to go.
Guanxi (exchange of favors) is China's corruption backbone. It's damn near everywhere. True Chinese friends will expect nothing in return for gifts, but beware of accepting things from people you don't know as they will probably expect you to help them in a much more expansive way later.
It IS possible to find true Chinese friends. I have many Chinese friends who give so much to me, but want nothing more than my friendship in return. These are not F.O.D. situations. In those situations you almost always hear, ';This is my good foreign/American friend. They work at ........';

Usually what happens with mine, is theres a tab that comes down and I right click on it and click on temporarily allow popups, then it should go. Otherwise if I remember correctly if you are using windows internet explorer (I do not use that anymore), there is a button on the tool bar that allows you to change your popup settings. It would be by the one that lets you set your spam settings, cookies and what not. Its been a while since I used that, so I could be wrong, but go ahead and look for those buttons, if you don'e see them, look under the tools scroll bar.
It may be disabled by your administrator if you are at work. If that is the case, you can do nothing about it. Security is applied via group policy (one policy for all ';basic'; users).

Could either be the washer pump itself, the switch or dodgy wiring. Can you hear the pump operating when no water is appearing? No.2 NO!! NO!! to de-sensitize yourself is to reject your own talents, qualities as a person, your natural gifts. To de-sensitize yourself is to repress (push away) your own nature and that would be very very sad indeed.
No.3 YES! I have to come learn to love myself slowly over time, %26amp; learn that my nature gives me gifts %26amp; a talent that not many other people have and that I need to value that even if I choose not to actively use my psychic abilities directly.
No.4 I would change 100% NOTHING!! The only advise I can offer you is to a) Love yourself and b) accept yourself just the way you are c) You do have a choice, you can accept your nature or reject it. But acceptance I have found leads to a place of better quality of well being, possibly happiness to at times.

First, no two people feel exactly the same thing for each other. I think we are attracted to people for what they bring to our lives. Wouldn't you agree?
For example, I may be feeling very down whereas I would be attracted to someone who can bring me up.
If I am feeling energetic, I would be attractive to someone who is active.
If I am feeling alone and bored, I might be attracted to someone who seems to have a lot of fun.

I believe that people come into our lives to forfill a need within us or visa versa. Some needs are long term some are not. This is why, in part, relationships don't always last. For me, there have been periods in my life where I have felt very weak and have sought out those who I can draw from in one way or another. But I am also generally very independant so once I become stronger, these relationships have failed because the other person that I had been leaning on, no longer felt I needed them... and I didn't ... at least not for the same reason. The relationships built on need often fails because they are truly not the ultimate fit on the long term.
I think some people panic and just get married to the first person who appears 'good enough'.
The 'oh, he'll/she'll grow on you' attitude may exist but more often in arranged marriages where people don't have much of a choice. I don't know anyone who married someone they didn't at least think they loved.

Do I need to use a desktop PC as a wireless hub for networked computers, or could a laptop work for this?
I am currently using a desktop pc with a wireless card as a ';hub'; for my kids' laptops. The desktop is on its last legs and needs to be ';retired';. Long distance relationship: Can this work out?
I am a senior in high school and I met this girl over the summer (also a senior) that lives about 45 minutes away. We said when school began we would try to see each other, but we were both in cross-country and we were too busy to really be together. We still talk a lot, text just about daily and call about once a week. I still really like her but we're not really ';in a relationship'; right now. We're gonna try to do stuff with the season over and break coming up, but with us most likely going to different colleges next year I don't know how to handle this. As long as he is in the country legally and this is documented (any legitimate employee will insure all the legal paperwork is in order) he's free to do as he wishes. i kiss my boyfriend all the time, and both of us have braces!! we got them on the same day together thought so...but....and none of the times we kissed....has anything wrong happened....
once with my best friend though and her boyfriend(both have/had braces) were kissing, and toung got pinched by his bracket...but that was all....so it just caused a little bump on her tounge(from the pinch) but that was all so....
