Does this performance chip actually work?

I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado. Found these on ebay for around 25 bucks some say that plug into the IAC control I think. Just wondering if they actually work.Does this performance chip actually work?
not really, it's just a resistor that tricks your computer into a default setting that uses more fuel and doesn't try to optimize for efficiency. It would increase power a little, but it's only using the default map setting. Therefor it wont always show improvements, only in some situations. If you really want good increase in performance from your computer you need to get a chip for your truck, or you need to get a tuner that plugs into your OBD2 port so that you can set the computer based on pre-configured settings on the tuner computer. My brother has a GMC 1500 which is basically the same truck, and he's thinking about using these guys for when he needs to get a tuner. I'm sure there are others out there, but i only know of this one company.Does this performance chip actually work?
They are just 'piggy-back' resistors which trick your engine management into thinking the engine is running at a lower temperature that it actually is thus supplying more fuel. They are more effective on small engined cars in terms of an increase in actual performance.
