Is this how the yacthing industry works??

Usually, most yachts are privately owned and chartered out when the owners are not using them or the owners have a business of working full time on their yacht and chartering it out to guests.

They submit their info to lots of Travel agencies, specializing in yacht charters. These travel agencies are where people who are interested in a yacht charter go to for the information, and the travel agency schedules them for the yacht charter.

Is this right? Is this how the yacthing industry works??
well, yeah...most yachts are privately owned but NOT chartered...boats that are chartered either have the owners doing the advertisements and bookings, and maybe the sailing as well; there may or may not be a paid crew aboard to do sailing and upkeep.

lot of couples will charter their boats and advertise through ';yacht brokers';.............there are about 50 around the world that specialize in finding clients for charter boats and I would say 95% of the business goes thru yacht or charter brokers and NOT general purpose travel agents.......so google yacht brokers or charter brokers and see how many hits you get...the big players here in the Caribbean anre Nicholson Yacht Chartes, Bajor Yacht Charters and the VI Charter Yacht LeaugeIs this how the yacthing industry works??
They list there yacht for hire with a yacht rental agent. No usually more than one. If they are not performing for you, get a new agent.
In common - yes.
