Story telling or movies would be nice. Get something popular and up to the times. It is sure to attract attention in class.Would anyone help me regarding this social service work?
You could do short stories and each person can come up with a sentance to add to the story.
Bring food and silerware, napkins, cups, plate, etc. Bring a table cloth and cover a table set table as if you will be dining at it. Bring water or milk or Koolaid and teach the students the words for the items. You can give sentences like '; How do you like the sandwich';. Or ';Will you please pass the salt';. Just teach everyday things like ';this is called a spoon';, etc. Eating is something they do everyday and it would be fun to learn the words so when they are at home eating they will think of the words and maybe teach their parents. It is hands-on learning. Or ask them to bring a lunch to eat in the classroom. You can use their lunches to teach them the names of the items and small sentences about the items.
Reputed school?
Make learning fun
The best way to learn any language is through song. Give them simple songs in English, and have them work in groups to translate each line. (Or take simple songs that they know in their language, and have them translate to English.) This also helps expose them to English/American culture at the same time.
For example, I learned to conjugate Japanese verbs to the tune of ';Frosty the Snowman,'; and I have never forgotten how!
Some songs to try:
Happy Birthday
Mary Had a Little Lamb
The Hokey-Pokey (this is also a dance, so everyone can move even if they forget the words)
You can also try simple childhood games like Simon Says and Hot%26amp;Cold by calling out the commands in English. If you have some simple resources like a blackboard or scrap paper, you can build vocabulary with games like Flyswatter. Write the words from the vocabulary list randomly on the board or on pieces of paper taped around the room. Then pick one person from each team, and call out the English word. The first person to tap the word with their flyswatter (or pencil or hand) wins; their teammates can help them by pointing out where it is.
good luck and have fun!
